The story of the lions is the story of the two Albanian filmmakers, Vani and Kaçi who are invited to attend the “Venice Film Festival”. They have been close friends since childhood until now, on their 60's. At the beginning of the trip from Bari to Venice, they meet two actresses from adult movies industry. From this moment on, the four of them continue the trip to Venice together. Two conservative Albanians and two open-minded ladies will lead us over the whole movie into a comic odyssey which is sometimes odd, full unexpected turns and emotional situations. It is very difficult for all four of them to live together with such different views of life until Vani, the most conservative of the four of them accidentally discovers that his daughter he immensely adores, is part of the adult movie industry.
After finishing the studies for Film Directing in the Academy of Arts in Tirana, Jonid launched his career as a director with a short movie “ Everyone Cries” supported by National Film Center and SEE Cinema Network. “Everyone Cries” was the first Albanian film to enter in a French festival competition like `Clermont Ferrand ́. Jonid then focused more on television productions of TV shows and documentaries. Most of the times he writes and directs his own works except in his second short film “Lost Days” where he adapted Dino Buxati short story. In 2019 he won the prize for best script for the Apulia Film Commission web series "The sweet Dealer" “Two Lions to Venice” is his first feature film.
