It’s the last day of the family’s vacations. Little Margarita wants to swim without her wings, but her parents want to postpone it until next summer. An allegory about the attitude of the Western civilization towards the refugee crisis.
Alexandros Kostopoulos studied Filmmaking at the Cinema & TV School of L. Stavrakos, in Athens, Greece, and Information Sciences and Multimedia Technology at the Athens University. His short film "First Swim" participated in several international film festivals, including Trieste FF, Foyle FF (Special recognition), Athens IFF, Olympia IFF, etc. His documentary “Speed of Light”, was screened on the Greek public broadcaster. His animated short film “The island of Zebra” is financed by the Greek Film Center and the main Greek broadcaster and it participated to the Mediterranean Film Institute workshop (2020). Moreover, it was selected by the Drama Pitching Mini Talent Lab, and Olympia “Creative Ideas” Pitching Lab (both in 2019). He has been awarded by the Scriptwriters’ Guild of Greece. He works as a director and editor in Cinema and TV.
